Buy the Koersel Cape sewing pattern from Itch to Stitch. A cape adds an instant touch of luxury while keeping you warm. This modern cape features an open-front design, spacious elbow-length sleeves, and an oversized hood. Choose between single-welt pockets or bias-bound patch pockets. Koersel is finished with bias binding for a polished look.

Suggested fabrics: 

Main: Use a medium- to heavy-weight woven fabric or a very stable knit, such as coating, wool blends, or double knits. Both the right and wrong sides of the fabric will be visible so choose accordingly.

Pocket lining: Use lightweight lining fabric with no stretch such as polyester/viscose/rayon lining or quilting cotton. 

Fabric requirements: 

Main: 45" (113 cm) wide fabric: 2 3/8 - 2 7/8 yd (220 - 260 cm) // 54" (135 cm) wide fabric: 1 7/8 - 2 7/8 yd (170 - 260 cm).

Pocket lining: 45" (113 cm) wide fabric: Welt pocket, 1/2 yd (30 cm) // Patch pocket, 1/4 yd (20 cm).

Sizing: XXS – XXXL (approx. UK 4 – 32, based on our ). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Lightweight fusible woven or weft insertion interfacing (for pockets); 1 yd/m of 1/2" (12.7 mm)-wide double-fold bias tape (for patch pockets, optional for welt pockets).
